Responsify Scholarship

Sponsor: Responsify
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: Annually on October 5th
Description: Scholarship is open to incoming, current undergraduate, or graduate students who are domestic, international, online, or undocumented. Applicants must submit an essay answering questions about empowerment, and their intended/current major.

TheDream.US National Scholarship Program

Sponsor: The Dream.US
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: Annually on February 28th
Description: Applicant must be undocumented, with or without DACA or TPS. Applicant must also be a first-time college student, with the intent to attend a partner college (see website for more information). In addition to the national scholarship, there are also location specific scholarships (states where they are faced paying out-of-state tuition, or will not admit students to their universities).

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

Sponsor: The Jackie Robinson Foundation

Closing Date: January 10th, 2024
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating, minority high school seniors who plan on attending an accredited and approved four-year university within the United States. Applicants must show evidence of financial need, demonstrate a record of academic excellence, have leadership potential, and show their dedication to community service.

ExploraVision Science Competition

Sponsor: Toshiba/NSTA
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: January 31st, 2024
Description: Competition is open to students in grades K-12th. Students must work in a group of 2-4 members. all from the same school, and select a technology they wish to improve. Applicants must explore its history, design three (3) alternative features to develop the technology, and research ways to make their new technology a reality. (See additional formatting rules/requirements on the website).

Porch Skill, Trade, and Technology Scholarship 

Sponsor: Porch
Amount: $2000
Closing Date: Varies**
Spring Contest Cycle: April 17 – July 17 of each year.
Summer Contest Cycle: July 18 – October 14 of each year.
Fall Contest Cycle: October 15 – January 15 of the following year.
Winter Contest Cycle: January 16 – April 16 of each year

The Cooke College Scholarship

Sponsor: Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
Amount: Up to $55,000
Closing Date: Annually on November 16th
Description: Applicants must be a a senior standing, and graduating from a U.S. high school in Spring of 2024, with the intent to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning Fall of 2024. Applicants must also earn a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above, and demonstrate unmet financial need— Applicants with a maximum annual gross household income of $95,000 will be considered.

Association of Women in Mathematics Essay Contest

Sponsor: Association of Women in Mathematics
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: Annually on February 1st
Description: Contest is open to students in grades 6th-12th, and undergraduate students. Students must submit an essay based on an interview with a women currently working in a mathematical career.

Mattress Advisor’s Sleep Science Scholarship

Sponsor: Mattress Advisor
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: Annually on March 20th
Description: Mattress Advisor offers an annual scholarship of $1,000 to a student who believes in the importance of building and maintaining healthy sleep patterns. Eligible applicants must be a recent U.S. high school graduates, or currently enrolled in a two or four-year college at an accredited U.S. institution. Requirements also include that students maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and be planning to pursue, or already pursuing, a degree in the United States.

Mathworks Math Modeling Challenge

Sponsor: Mathworks
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: February 23rd, 2024
Description: Scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors. Applicants must form a team of three (3) to five (5) students, and one (1) teacher-coach, to resolve an open-ended MC3 Challenge problem.

Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship

Sponsor: Vegetarian Resource Group
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: February 20th, 2024
Description: Applicants must be senior and graduation in Spring of 2024. Applicants must submit an essay addressing a series of questions regarding their relationship with vegetarianism. Students will be judged on having shown compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian diet/lifestyle.

Annual Scholarships

John F. and Anna Lee Stacey Scholarship

Sponsor: National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: Annually on February 1st
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years old. Applicants must be pursuing a profession in visual arts, and must show an affinity with the classical tradition of Western Culture.

SME Education Foundation Scholarships

Sponsor: Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Education Foundation
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: Annually on February 1st
Description: Applicants must be a permanent resident or citizen of the United States, or Canada. Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher, and must be on a path towards an associate, bachelor’s, or graduate degree in manufacturing engineering, technology, or a closely related field at an accredited college, or university in the United States or Canada.

Winston Classical Voice Scholarship

Sponsor: National Society of Arts and Letters
Amount: $12,000
Closing Date: Annually on February 1st
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens between the ages of 16 and 22 years of age. Applicants must submit a twelve-minute vocal performance (see website for further admission requirements). Scholarship funds are for private study, or personal advancement in the applicants’ future vocal career. The funds cannot be used for college tuition, housing, or travel.

Winston Two-Dimensional Arts and Letters

Sponsor: National Society of Arts and Letters
Amount: $12,000
Closing Date: Annually on February 1st
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens between the ages of 16 and 22 years of age. Applicants must submit five (5) art works done within the past two years. Scholarship funds are for private study, special training, or personal advancement in the applicants’ chosen art field. The funds can be used for college tuition, and required art supplies, but not for housing, travel, or personal expenses.

Cyrus Artisan Rugs Scholarship

Sponsor: Cyrus Rugs
Amount: $500
Closing Date: Annually on February 8th
Description: Must be currently enrolled in an interior design, or similar, course OR must be a high school graduate planning to study interior design during Spring of 2024. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay about the rug industry (see website for more details). Alternatively, the applicant could discuss why they should receive the Cyrus Artisan Rugs Scholarship grant.

Texting and Driving Prevention Scholarship

Sponsor: Hodge & Langley Law Firm
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: Annually on February 10th
Description: Must be accepted, or currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program in the United States. Applicants must submit a resume, and a 500-work essay that discusses how young people can prevent themselves, and others, from driving while distracted. Feel free to discuss your personal relationship with this issue and provide useful prevention tips to increase safety for everyone on the road.
